Chapter 191
Fortunately, Charles did not probe. Instead, he questioned her, “You know him?”
Jessica knew who he was referring to, and she answered honestly, “Yes.”
After all, it was meaningless to lie to an intelligent man.
However, Charles was surprised as he was not expecting her to be honest with him.
“That man has evil intentions, and he also has blood on his hands. He’s evil to the core,” Jessica uttered each word clearly.
She deliberately interrupted Seamus earlier as she did not want to give him a chance to talk..
Little did she expect Charles to be so cooperative. Evidently, he did not seem to like Seamus either.
Charles raised his eyebrows and asked, “How did you know?” “Just like how the upper-class socialites have their ways to obtain information, ordinary people like me have our own ways too. You should avoid getting involved with that man. He brings nothing but trouble.”
Although Jessica was unsure of Seamus’ intention, she was determined to ruin his plans regardless.
It did not matter whether or not Charles would listen to her advice. After all, she had told and done everything she could.
Charles smiled as he said, “All right. Anything you say.”
Samantha went up to them, and she almost dropped her plate on the ground when she heard what Charles just said.
When did Uncle Charles become so obedient? Wait a second. Does that mean Uncle Charles will have to listen to me if Jess were to become his wife in the future?
Samantha was excited by the thought.
That sounds like a good idea. I won’t be walking on thin ice around Uncle Charles then!
As Samantha was fantasizing about her blissful future, a flick on her forehead brought her back to reality.
“Hey! It hurts!” Samantha covered her forehead and glared at Charles.
“What are you thinking about? You’re even drooling. Wipe it off.”
Samantha quickly wiped her mouth with her hands only to realize she had been tricked.
“Uncle Charles! You tricked me!”
After slacking for a while, Charles was whisked away by Edgar to socialize. With Charles gone, Jessica and the girls found somewhere quiet to rest.
Meanwhile, Yael noticed that Seamus and his partner had left Charles’ side. “Great! This is your chance. You have to do it fast before Sebastian shows up,” she quickly instructed.
Yael had to settle everything according to her orders before Sebastian arrived.
After being persuaded, Yara gathered her courage and walked toward Seamus with a glass of juice in her hand. As she got closer to them, she felt even more nervous. However, she was able to stay calm when she thought about how bright her future would be if she were to succeed.
Seamus could sense someone was approaching him, and he quickly turned around but it was too late. A glass of fruit juice had completely drenched his suit.
Yara was stunned. She had poured the fruit juice on the wrong person.
Right then, she started to panic for real.
“I-I’m really sorry.” Yara quickly stepped forward and
clumsily wiped off the juice stain from his clothes.
Just as Seamus was going to make a fuss, he locked his gaze with a pair of teary eyes. Instantly, he felt a jolt of excitement.
“It’s okay,” Seamus replied gently. He grabbed her hand and gave her a polite smile.
Yara was soon captivated by his kind and gentle character.
Although the man was in his forties, about the same age as her father, he looked much younger than his age.
Seamus had a big grin on his face as he stared at Yara, who was blushing in embarrassment as if she was his prey. His partner trembled in fear when she saw the way Seamus looked at Yara.
Chapter 192
“I’m really sorry,” Yara said with tears in her eyes.
Seamus did not let go of her hand. Instead, he squeezed it tentatively. Upon seeing Yara look down coyly while blushing, a grin appeared across his face.
“Can you accompany me upstairs to get a change of clothes?” he asked.
“Of course. It’s my fault after all,” Yara answered. It was the perfect excuse to hide her true intentions.
The two of them hit it off immediately.
The lady beside them felt great trepidation as she watched. She also heaved a sigh of relief as someone would take her place which meant she was finally free from the pervert. Yael almost cursed as she watched the scene unfold.
This stupid girl! I told her to pour the juice on the girl, but she poured it on Seamus! Yael gritted her teeth in anger as she watched Yara and Seamus make their way upstairs. Is she seducing him or what?
Yael was racking her brains to figure out how to break up the pair as it was not what she was instructed to do.
Ding Dong.
Her phone pinged, and it was a message from XX.
Anonymous: Good job. The item you requested has been delivered to your house.
Yael let out a long sigh of relief upon reading the text. As Yara had completed the mission for her, she could finally relax.
All that was left to do was await Sebastian’s appearance.
Charles left the table and walked around in search of Jessica.
He left the banquet and walked to the garden outside. It was difficult to find someone in the garden with dull lights illuminating the area.
“Charles.” A voice filled with surprise sounded behind him.
Charles turned around and saw a girl running to him. She had a sweet smile, and her eyes glimmered as she looked at him.
“Charles, what a coincidence! Are you out for a breather too?” Whitney asked.
“Ms. Larson, I don’t think we’re close enough to be on a first-name basis. Please address me as Mr. Young, like the rest,” Charles answered coldly.
Whitney’s cheeks were flushed with embarrassment as she wondered why Jessica was on a first-name basis with Charles, but not herself.
“Charles, you weren’t like that when we met at the entrance. I thought…” She bit on her lower lip and looked at him like a lost puppy.
Charles sneered inwardly.
Still trying to act dumb!> Her little antics were nothing in his eyes.
Charles was not one to give in to girls. He already gave Whitney a chance but she chose to ignore it. “Ms. Larson. One should have some self-awareness. Not everyone is close enough to be on a first-name basis. I believe you have a lot to learn regarding your manners.” Charles went straight to the point.
He walked off after he said his piece and did not bother how Whitney was taking it.
A few snickers came from the seats behind him after he left.
Whitney turned around to see eight people sitting behind the garden. Namely, the sons and daughters of rich and affluent families in Horington.
They were all staring at her, bemused.
“Some people truly have no shame. They can throw their dignity away just to cling onto someone rich and powerful.”
“Hahaha! What dignity? She lost it long ago.”
“Charles? Geez, how did she even come up with that? She’s dying to claw her way up.” 쇼
Whitney wanted to dig a hole and bury herself to hide from the humiliation.
She covered her face with her hands and ran off, earning another bout of sarcastic laughter.
Chapter 193
Whitney accidentally bumped into someone while making her escape.
“Sorry,” she apologized with her head hung low.
“Whitney, it’s me.” Zachary’s voice traveled from above.
When Whitney looked up and saw his caring gaze, the tears in her eyes started flowing like a broken dam.
Zachary panicked when she cried. “What’s wrong? Who bullied you? Tell me. I’ll help you get back at them,” he asked worriedly.
Whitney shook her head and refused to speak.
The more she kept quiet, the more worried Zachary got. “Just tell me. Who bullied you? Is it her?” Zachary grunted when he mentioned “her”.
“No, no. It’s not her. Stop asking, Zac. I don’t want you to get scolded by Mom and Dad.” Although Whitney and Zachary did not mention who explicitly, everyone knew that they meant Jessica.
Zachary fumed, “I’m going to talk to her now. She’s getting way out of line. Is it so hard for her to leave you alone?”
Whitney clung onto his arm and begged, “Zac, not today.” What she meant was to teach Jessica a lesson another day.
Zachary gave in when Whitney begged him. He suppressed his anger and said, “Okay, I’ll listen to you. I won’t do it today but after this, I’ll definitely teach her a lesson.”
On the account of Jessica being the biological daughter of James and Julianna, Zachary had always given in to her, but she had indeed overstepped.
He never thought their kindness would lead to her getting totally out of line, so he had to teach her a lesson to remind her that she was not in charge of the Larson family.
The guests were done with their small talk, yet the main character was not yet present. They started speculating in louder voices.
“What if Sebastian just doesn’t show up?”
“The banquet has been ongoing for so long. It’s going to end soon if he’s still not here.”
“Do you think the Lewis family sent out fake news? Maybe Sebastian isn’t even coming?” someone questioned.
The majority shared the same consensus as him.
“No way!” Someone else had a different thought. “Can’t you tell? The oldies are all here for Sebastian. If the Lewis family used this news to make their company’s banquet appear grander, they’d be offending so many big shots. That’s not a worthwhile deal,” someone analyzed. Most of them had thought of this and were waiting patiently.
Sebastian’s medical skills were top-notch, and his position in the medical world was worth waiting.
As they waited anxiously, the Lewis family was having a hard time.
The news that Sebastian was back worked as a double-edged sword. If they used it right, the position of the Lewis family would rise. If the plan failed, they would have offended so many people.
The atmosphere was tense in the backstage lounge.
Edgar looked at his three sons and questioned, “Have you contacted Sebastian?”
His eldest, Leo, answered, “His phone is constantly switched off.”
“What about his assistant?” Edgar asked.
Logan replied cautiously, “His assistant said Sebastian had
left the hospital. He should be here by now. But…”
Alas, Sebastian still had not arrived at the banquet.
Chapter 194
“Logan, send someone to find him now. Don’t bother coming back if you can’t find him,” Edgar instructed.
Logan grimaced and took on the task.
As time went by, the guests at the banquet were ready to leave disappointed.
“The Lewis family really screwed up this time. Everyone’s gonna be disappointed,” Samantha grumbled and clicked her tongue.
Jessica added, “I think ‘everyone’ doesn’t include me.”
“You just don’t have a heart.” Samantha pushed her away. Jessica chuckled, “I’m heading to the bathroom.”
“Go, go,” Samantha replied.
Jessica did not walk to the bathroom. Instead, she went upstairs and walked toward the guest lounge.
She walked past the hallway and stopped outside every room for a few seconds.
When she reached the last room, she heard a woman’s moans.
Jessica walked up and looked into the room. The door was slightly ajar and Jessica had a full view from the little gap. A woman with a glamorous figure was facing her direction. In front of the woman stood a tall man dressed in a white button-up and black suit pants. His pants accentuated his long legs.
From his back view and aura, Jessica predicted that the man would look handsome from the front.
She scoffed and confirmed that this was not who she was looking for. As she wanted to leave, she heard the woman moan, “Sebastian, I feel so uncomfortable. Can you help me?”
Sebastian?
Jessica stopped and went back to the room.
There was the Sebastian she was looking for. Everyone was waiting for him while he was having a tryst.
At that moment, Jessica started doubting his standards.
“I can’t reach the button. Please help me?” the woman pleaded. Her sultry eyes and red lips were provocative and alluring.
Jessica had no intention of eavesdropping and was about to leave when she heard Sebastian’s deep voice.
“You had some work done on your cheeks, nose, eyes, forehead, and lips. There are silicone implants in your breasts, and you did liposuction on your waist. Every part of your body is fake, and you’re literally a walking silicone doll. You think I would be interested in that?”
What the fuck! Jessica was shocked once again.
She could not believe Sebastian dared to expose the woman to her face. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. The woman’s face turned green as she raised a trembling finger and pointed at the awful man in front of her.
“You…” She raised her hand to slap him when he grabbed her wrists.
“Your movements are too big. Any sudden movements can crush the silicone and cause it to explode in your body.”
The woman was stunned by his words and dared not move. “You’re despicable,” she spat.
Sebastian let go of her and walked away.
His brown eyes which were hidden under the gold-rimmed glasses landed on Jessica who was standing outside.
Jessica stared at the man in front of her. Even though she expected that he would be handsome, she never thought that he would look like he was carved by God himself. His features looked like they were sculpted precisely with a wisp of hair in front of his forehead. His gold-rimmed glasses made him look like a scholar. Yet, when combined with his cold aura, he felt so sexy and mysterious.
Chapter 195
Their eyes landed on each other as they looked the other party up and down.
Sebastian opened the door and landed his sharp gaze on Jessica’s face.
He left a trail of peppermint fragrance as he walked past her.
It was not his perfume, but it smelt really good.
Sebastian stopped in his tracks and turned around. Staring into her eyes, he said, “You have beautiful eyes.” Jessica was dumbfounded.
“If you’re looking for the pathetic-looking couple, just give up. They’ve left the banquet, and that man isn’t a good chap,” Sebastian reminded.
The more he stared at her, the more she reminded him of his long-lost sister.
He thought to himself, Someone with such pretty eyes should not be involved with that type of man.
“How did you know I was looking for them?” Jessica asked. “Other than us, they’re the only ones on this floor. From the moment you walked past the third room, I heard your footsteps. You would pause outside every room, so I guessed that you were looking for someone. A couple left about five minutes ago. If I put two and two together, it’s not hard to guess.”
Upon listening to his clever deduction, Jessica could not help but clap in admiration.
“What a genius. Even your hearing is great.”
If Sebastian could hear her footsteps from the third room, his hearing would be superb.
“What a waste that you’re a doctor. If you had enlisted in the army, you’d definitely be the best recruit,” Jessica said.
Sebastian was stunned. Jessica’s words felt incredibly familiar as he recalled that his father had said the same thing 10 years ago.
“Do you have any family members?” he asked and pursed his lips. It must be his mother’s influence. He had just visited her and now everyone was looking like his sister. Jessica smiled. “Of course.”
Except she did not need those family members.
Sebastian walked off, but turned around to repeat what he just said, “Your eyes are really beautiful.”
“Thank you.” Jessica felt awkward as she was praised by the same person twice a day.
If his eyes were not as clear and gentle, she would have assumed he was a pervert.
She smirked at his back. This man’s pretty interesting.
The legendary genius doctor felt different from what Jessica had imagined. She thought he would be a nerd or an all-rounder scholar. Yet, Sebastian was interesting and charming. Especially his gold-rimmed glasses.
Leo stepped out of the room and saw the man walking toward him. His eyes widened and a gleam of joy flashed across them.
“Dr. Ferguson, you’re here.” Leo walked up excitedly.
“Where’s Old Mr. Lewis?” he asked.
“My dad is in the room,” Leo replied as he led Sebastian inside.
Those in the room were surprised and dubious at Sebastian’s sudden appearance.
Edgar’s usual cold face was replaced with smiles. “Dr. Ferguson, long time no see.’
Everyone in the room widened their eyes and scrutinized Sebastian head to toe. A unanimous thought popped up in their heads; the man who looked like a celebrity was actually the genius doctor. It was unbelievable.

Chapter 196
“I’ll give Old Mr. Lewis a check-up first. Please excuse us,” Sebastian demanded.
The Lewis family would never go against his wishes and left the room.
Once they left, members of the Lewis family went to the banquet and informed guests that Sebastian had arrived. “What the fuck! Sebastian’s really here?” Samantha squealed.
“Members of the Lewis family announced it themselves. Apparently, he’s upstairs right now and giving Old Mr. Lewis a check-up,” Daisy whispered.
“We can finally see if he’s as good-looking as the rumors say he is. I wonder if he’s as handsome as my idol.” Samantha asked.
“Come on! Your idol is literally the best-looking guy in the entertainment industry. Sebastian probably doesn’t care about his looks. After all, he has the brains of a doctor,” Daisy replied.
“My idol also has his talents too!” Samantha retorted.
How can she speak about my idol like that!
Daisy felt it was useless to argue with Samantha and kept quiet.
Ten minutes later, Sebastian handed a card and a bottle of pills to Leo.
“Old Mr. Lewis is still doing well. If he takes good care of himself, he’ll be able to be with your family for at least a few years. Take one pill if his symptoms worsen. This pill should only be used if there’s really no choice, so don’t abuse it,” he paused and continued, “As for the card, you know who it is.”
If it was not for XX’s request, Sebastian would not waste his time traveling to the banquet.
Now that he had repaid the favor, he was ready to leave.
昌
Leo stopped him in a hurry and said, “Dr. Ferguson, why don’t we head down for some snacks? You’re not in a hurry, are you?”
Kind sir, there’s a bunch of people waiting for you. downstairs. You can’t just leave! How am I going to explain if you leave?
“It’s fine. I’d prefer a quiet environment.” Sebastian left without turning back.
Zayne walked to his father and asked, “Dad, are you really letting him go?”
Leo sighed. “We can’t possibly tie him up. He’s not someone we can offend.”
He was well aware they owed Sebastian’s visit to XX. If it was not for XX, there would be no reason for Sebastian to attend to the Lewis family.
“What about the guests who are still waiting?” Zayne asked.
“What about it? He’s already gone,” Leo replied.
While the rest were waiting excitedly, they had no idea that the man they were anticipating had already left.
When Jessica came back, she overheard Daisy and Samantha talking passionately about Sebastian’s achievements.
“Jess, you’re right on time. Sebastian’s giving Old Mr. Lewis a check-up now. He’ll be here once he’s done. I’m so excited!” Samantha squealed in excitement.
Daisy chuckled. “She’s just in for the looks.”
“So what? I’m proud of it.” Samantha raised her chin proudly.
Jessica added, “Don’t get your hopes too high. He might not come down.”
Daisy and Samantha stared at her.
“How do you know he won’t be here?” Samantha asked.
“Sixth sense,” replied Jessica.
Although they had only met once, Jessica could tell Sebastian disliked loud places like the banquet. If not, he would not have made his way up quietly.
“My sixth sense tells me that he’d come.” Samantha smiled.
“Oh right, I saw Yael and Yara leaving with Seamus. I heard that he’s a playboy and is always switching girlfriends,” Daisy said.
“Whatever. It’s her choice,” Samantha scoffed.
Chapter 197
“Everyone has their own aspirations.” Jessica sipped some tea.
Soon, I’m almost there. As Yara sat in the luxury car, excitement and nervousness were pulsing through her veins. Although the man beside her was older and had a plain look, he was a real gentleman.
“Where do you live?” he asked.
“I…” Yara could not bring herself to reveal her address.
Seamus understood and continued, “If you don’t mind, we can go to my place for some drinks?”
“Okay.” Yara nodded.
After Yara readied herself in the shower, she stepped out in a towel. She blushed and put her head down when her eyes met Seamus’.
His hormones were raging at the sight of the innocent and docile girl.
“Have a good rest. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He closed the door behind him.
As Yara stared at the door in shock, she started doubting herself.
He left just like that? Was I not pretty enough? He wouldn’t bring me home if he wasn’t into me.
The only possibility she could fathom was that Seamus was a real gentleman and a kind person.
Yara felt satisfied with that thought.
In the study, Seamus was leering at the petite beauty in his screen as his hands twitched.
He awfully wanted to hear her cries and wondered how wondrous they would sound.
As he toyed with Yara’s ID card in his hand, he noticed her address. Western suburbs, Shanty Town. What a perfect location.
Seamus ordered his staff to investigate how Yara got into the banquet and who she was related to. He would not do anything to her without being sure.
For the next two days, Yara stayed at his mansion due to his generous invite.
She had the life that she wanted; one where she did not have to worry about money.
Seamus rubbed his hands together as he watched the girl running in the yard.
“Seamus, come play with me!” Yara waved at the man standing under the parasol.
Just as he stood up, his phone rang. Seamus waved to Yara and picked up the phone.
“Mr. Davis, we have the results. Her invite was given to her by Ms. Jessica. They were supposedly good friends.” “Good friends?” Seamus frowned.
If Yara was related to Jessica, he would have to let her go. “That was in the past. The Leon family recently tarnished Ms. Jessica’s reputation and it was all Yara’s plan. Their friendship soured after the incident. She only got the invitation letter because she got down on her knees and begged for it. Her family is poor. Her father is bedridden and her younger brother is always loitering around, rarely home. You can do whatever you want, Mr. Davis.”
Seamus smiled with his eyes fixated on his prey.
He could finally have a taste of it.
After he hung up, Seamus accompanied Yara for the afternoon. Her innocent smile was driving him crazy. He desperately wanted the sky to turn dark.
After dinner, the housekeeper brought Yara to a spacious bathroom.
After she stepped in, the maid closed the door behind her. Yara got scared.
“Seamus, where are you?” she shouted into the room. The tub was large enough to fit 3 to 4 persons.
Seamus walked out behind her and hugged her tightly.
昬
“Ah!” Yara screamed in fear.
Chapter 198
“Yara, it’s me,” Seamus whispered in her ear.
Yara was uncomfortable at first and struggled, but quickly relaxed. She knew the day would come eventually,
“Darling, I really like you. It was love at first sight. Are you willing to stay by my side?”
Despite being taken aback by the confession, she was elated nonetheless. Yara had been waiting for the opportunity for a long time.
If she wanted to continue living as she did, she had to stay by Seamus’ side.
“Yes,” Yara responded without thinking.
She would have taken some time to consider his offer but was afraid of losing the opportunity.
Seamus grinned. “You can relax now, Yara. I’ll take care of you. Will you stay by my side forever?”
“Yes.”
“You’re such a good girl. I need you to do something for me. I’m not sure if you’ll agree to it.”
“What is it?”
“Agree to it first.” Seamus smiled.
His smile was unnerving. The look in his eyes made him seem as though he was looking at his prey.
No. I must be overthinking. Seamus was such a gentleman to me; he’s definitely not that kind of person.
“I agree, so tell me what the request is,” Yara responded flirtatiously.
“I would like to watch you bathe.” Seamus’ face was eager and doting.
Yara let out a sigh of relief. She had expected it to be something more.
Since she had agreed to be with him as his woman, bathing in front of him was just a matter of time.
Yara struggled out of his grip. As she walked in front of the bathtub and stepped in, Seamus’ gaze followed her.
As he watched her tease him, the smile on his face got creepier.
Seeing his lack of response to her teasing, Yara got a little annoyed.
“The bathtub is really big. Won’t you join me?” Yara decided to take the initiative and said while blushing.
“Okay,” Seamus replied softly.
He took big steps toward her and stood by her side.
Yara got increasingly shy, but little did she know what she was getting herself into.
Her invite was simply her asking for trouble.
“Ah!”
A chilling scream echoed throughout the mansion.
“Mmm…” Yara cried out in pain as her eyes filled with fear. “Let me go! My family will come looking for me if I go missing, then all your deeds will be exposed. Mr. Davis, I’m sure you don’t want such a thing to happen, right?” Yara tried to convince Seamus to let her go.
However, she was too naive.
A person like Seamus would always have a plan B for when things went awry.
He was careful and diligent in studying all his prey. It was because of this that he was assured he could do this for a long time.
“Don’t worry. Your dad is at death’s door, and your useless brother will just assume you ran away. They don’t care if you’re dead or alive.”
Yara believed every word he said.
“My good friend is Ms. Jessica.” Yara had to throw out Jessica’s name, hoping that he would let her go then.
“As long as you let me go, I won’t tell anyone about this. I’m begging you,” Yara pleaded.
Seamus roared with laughter. He grabbed Yara by her hair and yanked it as she squealed in pain.
“I’m very clear of your relationship with Ms. Jessica. Just stay by my side. If you make me happy, I’ll consider letting you go.”
昌
Chapter 199
There was no way Yara could believe his words.
“Please let me go,” she continued begging.
Her pleading did not sway Seamus one bit. In fact, it made things worse.
Seamus pulled out a whip from the drawer and slowly walked toward her. She quickly crawled out of the bathtub and ran toward the main door, only to realize that it was locked.
Looking at him getting closer step by step, Yara was terrified.
The pain that the whip inflicted upon her was indescribable. “Ah!”
Her screams and Seamus’ maniacal laughter echoed throughout the bathroom.
She could neither escape nor defend herself.
Yara was losing all hope, but little did she know that what lay ahead was much worse.
Her dreams had been shattered and her future was bleak. The mere thought of it was torturous.
In the past, her days seemed as long as years, but at that moment, she would prefer death over life.
She even started to reminisce on her life before.
Yara was filled with regrets. She regretted following Seamus home and trusting his words. However, what she regretted most was attending the banquet.
If Jessica had not made her attend the banquet, she would never have met this horrible monster, and she would not be suffering such torment.
To Yara, all of it was Jessica’s fault as the latter had
brought this upon her.
Why must you cause such harm to me when you’re leading such a fortunate life?
Her hate for Jessica overshadowed the physical pain she felt.
It was only by focusing all her thoughts on her hatred toward Jessica that she was able to overcome the pain Seamus was inflicting upon her over and over again.
Over at the Larson residence, Jessica was curled up on the couch when her phone vibrated.
It was a text message: I’ll be taking action tonight. Once I get the videos, their crimes will be made public. When shall we meet?
Jessica replied: 4 o’clock at Oaktree Cafe.
After sending her reply, she put her phone aside and opened the drawer next to her.
Jessica took out a glass bottle and a wooden box. She then placed some marijuana into the bottle that was originally a third full, but now it was more than half full. “I wonder who will be next?” she muttered.
“I guess it’s you.” Jessica smiled and her eyes hovered toward the name written on a sheet of paper: Seamus Davis.
The sun was setting when Willow returned. The house was empty as the curtains swayed in the breeze.
Willow walked by the balcony and picked up a book from under the table.
Social Psychology.
Upon reading the title, she did not think much of it and merely assumed it was a subject at school.
As she was leaving the room, she coincidentally bumped into Julianna.
“Is she inside?”
“Ms. Jessica went to Samantha’s house. She plans to stay at Horington Island tonight,” Willow replied.
“She’s always going there,” Julianna complained.
Willow just kept quiet and smiled.
In actual fact, she did not really understand Julianna.
昌
James could not care less if Jessica frequented Horington Island. However, Julianna seemed to have many opinions about it.
Julianna went downstairs and saw Whitney sitting in the courtyard. A thought flashed across her mind and she stepped forward, speaking softly, “Whitney, why don’t you drop by Horington Island and ask Jess to come home?” Whitney’s first reaction was to reject her and ask her to make a call instead. However, she seemed to remember something and quickly understood her mother’s intentions.
Chapter 200
“All right,” replied Whitney tenderly.
“I’ll have Alex drive you there. Please be safe on the road,” Julianna reminded.
In the city of Horington, Horington Island, there was a figure gardening in her back garden.
Derek walked over and shouted, “Ms. Young, Ms. Whitney is here.
The person lifted her head. “Whitney is here? What is she doing here?
“She’s here to bring Ms. Jessica home.”
Samantha chuckled.
Where to bring Jessica home? Jessica’s not even here. She didn’t have to come all the way here. She could have just called.
“Tell her Jessica’s not here.”
She knew about Whitney’s intentions.
“Wait,” said Samantha as Derek turned around.
She pulled out her mobile phone and dialed Jessica’s number, but there was no answer.
Damn! Did Jess cause some trouble and say that she would be here?
Samantha was dubious as Jessica had done the same thing previously.
I’ll have to hear Whitney out in case something bad has happened to Jess.
After Samantha had given it a thought, she put down her spade and dusted herself off.
“I’ll see her.”
Whitney sat elegantly in the spacious living room. Her eyes darted around the room, taking in the decorations.
It was her first time on Horington Island.
The most luxurious and expensive houses in Horington were indeed more elegant and exquisite compared to her own.
When she heard footsteps approaching her, she turned her head. However, it was Samantha and not Jessica.
“Why are you here?”
Smiling, Whitney responded, “I’m here to look for Jess so that I can bring her home.”
“Jess? Jess isn’t here. You can go now.”
Whitney did not believe Samantha’s words as she probed,” Jess told me she’d be staying in Horington Island tonight. How is it possible that she’s not here?”
Samantha’s heart skipped a beat.
Was Jess staying out all night causing trouble?
She cleared her throat and said, “I’ve told you that she’s not here. You’re just wasting your time.”
Having never met someone so rude and dismissive,
Whitney was rendered momentarily speechless. “I’ll wait for her here.”
Haha! Two can play that game. I’ll force her to tell the truth!
“Derek, can you ask some security guards to escort her out? Please don’t let someone like that in here anymore. This isn’t a place where anybody can come and go as they please. After she leaves, please remember to sanitize the couch,” Samantha instructed before turning around to leave.
Upon hearing Samantha’s words, Whitney started seeing red.
Derek approached her and made a gesture. “Ms. Larson, this way please.”
Whitney took her handbag and left furiously.
As she walked out the door, she suddenly turned around and saw a figure standing on the balcony of the second floor.
Before she could speak, Derek stopped her and said, “Mr. Young doesn’t like strangers interrupting him while he’s at home.”
Whitney then broke into a twisted smile.
