He could only do the simplest actions, such as raising his hand or leg. Hearing the commotion outside, Sid thought his father had brought Nickolas.

However, before he could turn his head to the door, he heard Janet’s voice coming from the door. “Sid, I heard you were awake, so I came to see you.”

Sid’s body instantly stiffened. ‘Janet?’ He ignored the pain in his body and looked at the door alerted. As expected, he saw Janet’s shadow. She was the one who stabbed him.

Nickolas suddenly came to visit. Before Sid could tell his father who the murderer was, his father had already left. At that time, Sid thought that since he was awake, he could talk to Sebastian later. So, he did not stop his dad from leaving. Unexpectedly, before his father returned, the person who waited for him was Satan’s spawn, Janet.

“Damn it!” Sid asked anxiously, “What are you trying to do? This is a hospital!”

Janet appeared from behind the door and smiled.

As she approached Sid, she played with the dagger she brought and said, “Sid, why are you looking so scared? Aren’t we friends who fought side by side? Look at your face. You’re so scared. You’re already in a bad state, and your face looks even worse.”

As Janet spoke, she touched Sid’s chin. The stubble on it stung her hand. However, it was as if she did not feel any pain. She continued to touch as if she was doting on her severely injured good friend.

“Don’t touch me!” Sid looked away in disgust.

Janet looked disappointed and sighed. “You don’t have to resist me so much. I’m just trying to get what I want in life. What’s wrong with that?”

“Heh!” Sid laughed coldly. “I’ve never seen anyone more shameless than you. If you have the guts, say those words to Ken. He’s not dumb. Do you think he won’t suspect you?”

“So what if he suspects me? Does he have proof? Once you’re dead, he’ll gradually forget about you over time. And eventually, I’ll be the only woman standing by his side.”

Sid looked at her in disgust as if he had heard the biggest joke in the world.

“I think you already know Ken already has someone in his heart. That person is Melody. He won’t change his mind easily.”

Janet was neither angry nor annoyed. To a dead person, there was nothing to be angry about.

“Melody will end up like you. Do you think Ken can love a dead person for the rest of his life? I’d like to know the answer. Sid, you’re hard to kill like a cockroach. So, unfortunately, I have to kill you again. I’m sorry for being too gentle last time. You have to suffer again.” Janet sighed and added, “Do you have anything to say before you die? I promise I’ll keep that in mind.”

“Get lost. If you want to kill me, hurry up! Your existence disgusts me.”

Janet raised her eyebrows and tightened the grip on her dagger. “Since you’re so eager to die, I’ll fulfill your wish.” Her gaze turned sharp. She picked up the dagger and pointed it at Sid’s heart.

However, a phone suddenly flew over from the door. It sent the dagger in Janet’s hand flying. With a crisp bang, the dagger fell to the floor.

“What the f*ck?” Janet instantly became alert. Sid also looked at the door in shock. A slender woman with a powerful presence appeared before him against the corridor’s light.

After seeing that person’s face clearly, Sid’s eyes instantly lit up. ‘Melody!’

Janet’s face quickly turned stiff. “Well, if it isn’t the cheap sl*t!”

Back then, it was Melody who saved Sid. She was in the same ambulance as Sid, so he knew that if not for Melody’s video call, Sid would have died in the ambulance, let alone survived until that point.

Melody’s cold face didn’t change as she entered the ICU. After reassuring Sid, she looked at Janet lightly. “Janet, Sid has been your friend for many years. How could you bear to hurt him a second time?”

Janet narrowed her eyes coldly and did not refute Melody. She raised her chin and said, “Coincidentally, you and Sid are both here. That’s great! I can kill two birds with one stone. You can gossip on your way to hell so you won’t be lonely.”

Melody smirked mockingly. “That depends on whether you have the skill.”

“F*ck you. Let’s see how long you can keep that arrogant face!” Janet ordered her men, “Go, kill her!”
