Obsessed With Her Novel by Master Momo (Chapters 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 168, 169, 170)

Chapter 161

Jessica stared at Jack’s text, wondering how she should reply. For some reason, Jack sounded like he was wronged. Does he feel wronged? How could that be?

Her thoughts flashed back to the concert the other night. She recalled his charismatic behavior and could not bring herself to think that the same man would ever look pitiful.

Even her hairs stood on their ends upon this thought. I must be overthinking this!

She replied via text: You’re a friend.

Well, he is indeed a friend, she thought.

Even though they only met once and worked together once, she felt comfortable around him.

In fact, she enjoyed conversing with him. Unfortunately, he was quite a busy man.

Hence, Jessica dared not look for him frequently for fear that she would interrupt him.

She received Jack’s reply.

He texted: Since we are friends, how can I just sit and watch while you get flamed? You don’t have to feel embarrassed asking for my help. I will always be there for my friends, including you.

Jack grinned satisfactorily at the last sentence in his message.

He supposed that Jessica would not feel burdened by that.

Meanwhile, his assistant poured a glass of juice and placed it on the table. He peeked at the phone and saw the text. For a moment, he thought that Jack was a different man.

What the fuck! Mr. Ferguson is going all out! He even uses such words to trick the poor lady!

He remembered how Jack just watched on as his childhood friend got beaten up last time. The man only stepped in when he noticed that the bullies were close to being exhausted!

Jessica saw the message and concluded that Jack was indeed a kind man.

She never expected him to be so helpful. After all, he looked like a cold and distant person.

Seeing that she did not reply, Jack sent another message: My PR team is quite good. I can lend you some of my resources.

While Jessica appreciated the gesture, she preferred to deal with this herself.

It was more fulfilling when she took revenge in her own way.

Jessica replied: I don’t need a PR team. I need a good lawyer.

Jack: No problem.

Right after, he phoned the best lawyer that he knew.

Jessica received the lawyer’s information after she stepped out of the shower.

Jack: Jensen Shaw, 650xxxx514. I told him that you would drop him a call.

Jessica replied with thanks, but the man went silent.

The former was not bothered as she knew that he had probably got on with his busy day.

She did a quick search for the lawyer and realized that he was a big shot.

Jensen Shaw was like a god in the legal industry. He never lost a case ever since he became a practitioner.

Willow knocked on the door, entered the room, and looked at Jessica with a worried expression.

“Ms. Jessica, Mr. and Mrs. Larson are waiting for you in the dining room.

“Got it.”

Willow added, “Mr. Larson doesn’t seem to be in a good mood.”

“Thank you, Mrs. Wallace.”

The woman felt an imposing atmosphere even before she stepped into the dining room. When the maid saw her entering, she quickly pulled the chair for her in a cautious manner.

Julianna was the first to speak. “Jess, do you know what’s happening online?”

“Yes, I do.”

Jessica picked up her fork and began to eat.

Julianna and the maids looked shocked when they saw that Jessica was still in the mood for breakfast. Suddenly, James slammed his utensils on the table. He looked at her sternly and said, “You still have an appetite for food? Do you know how much trouble you’ve caused this time?”

Jessica looked up. There was an extremely calm expression on her face. Not a single hint of fear could be detected as she made eye contact with James.

Chapter 162

The keyboard warriors on the Internet had now turned their focus to the Larson Group.

This was why James was furious.

Whoever harmed the business was his foe.

Jessica placed her fork down and asked, “Is it my fault now?”

Julianna lowered her voice and replied gently, “Jess, while it is true that the other party was disrespectful, you didn’t handle the issue properly either. It’s just 15 thousand dollars!

“There’s no need to strain the relationship for that sum of money. It’s just not worth it for us to be a laughing stock over such a small matter! People will think that we can’t even afford an insignificant sum like this. I’m sure you know how this would affect your father’s business. Don’t be foolish!”

James nodded in agreement.

There is no need to blow up the issue over a small sum of money! I will never forgive her if this causes the Larson Group’s share price to fall!

“Your mother is right. You’ve always been an obedient child. Why are you acting like this now? Don’t you have 15 thousand dollars?” James could no longer suppress his anger.

Jessica looked at her parents and responded calmly, ” Instead of reprimanding me and wasting time, why don’t you think about how to resolve this? Time is money. The further we delay this, the worse it becomes for the company. I’m sure you know this.”

Julianna glared at her and reprimanded, “How can you talk like this? Your father has gotten in touch with his PR team and told them to handle it!”

“So? How are they handling it?”

“That’s none of your business. Just stay at home these few days. Don’t even go to school.”

James stood up and walked out.

He stopped at the entrance and turned to look at Jessica with a sharp gaze. “Contact the Ferguson and Young families. Don’t let them think that you’re an ungrateful person. Nobody will be friends with an ungrateful brat.”

After James left, Julianna sighed and continued to persuade Jessica. “Jess, these families are significant connections. Contact them as soon as you can and don’t offend them. Otherwise, your father will be angry.”

“Mother, are you telling me that my sole purpose in this family is to maintain a good relationship with the Fergusons and Youngs?”

“How can you think that way? Your father is doing this for your own good. Don’t throw a tantrum, all right?” Julianna added.

Jessica scoffed secretly. I’ll bet she wants me to throw a temper tantrum and offend the families! I don’t understand why she hates me so much. I get that she might be closer to Whitney. But, why can’t she take the time to get to know me better? Instead, she chooses to put a target on my back whenever she can. I wonder if I’m truly their biological daughter.

Regardless, Jessica was their biological child. A cold-hearted man like James would never bring home a child that was not his.

After Jessica went upstairs, she wanted to call Samantha, but the latter had arrived at her home.

She dashed up to the second floor with her laptop and barged into Jessica’s room.

“Jess, I found the two people you have been looking for!”

Chapter 163

Samantha switched on her laptop and opened up a tab.

“This is the man that started it all. His name is Leslie Lane, and he works for Hachure Media. Nothing iffy about him.” Samantha clicked on a few keys before the screen changed. “This is the man who leaked your information. He is Chelton Zeller, a computer science junior at Horington University. Though he might be good, I can hack into his computer anytime. By the way, I’m so disgusted at what he stores on his computer!”

Jessica watched as Samantha cracked his firewall and left a virus on his computer.

Despite her heavy makeup, the glint in Samantha’s eyes was unmistakable.

“I want to see the CCTV footage from the school entrance and the street. Is that possible?”

Confidently, Samantha held up an “OK” sign and began clacking at the keyboard again.

Jessica was not familiar with hacking, but she trusted Samantha’s abilities.

Ten minutes later, the clacking stopped. Samantha hit the enter key as the footage began to play on the laptop.

“There are too many people,” she commented with a frown. “Change the angle.”

Samantha placed a lollipop in her mouth and did as told. However, it was still hard to find the culprit from the footage. There were simply too many people.

“What should we do now? I knew that these people would take things out of context and post them on the Internet!” The lady began to panic.

Jessica patted her on the shoulders. “We can’t expect ourselves to foresee everything that would happen. Why don’t we go to the school forum and ask if anyone took a video? That would solve everything!”

“We can try that.”

Despite her own suggestion, Jessica was not hopeful. This was like finding a needle in a haystack.

Nonetheless, they were desperate.

Jessica secretly noted Leslie’s address.

Just as she expected, nobody took a recording.

Samantha was very disappointed.

In the afternoon, James stomped home and barged into his daughter’s room. He looked infuriated. However, he quickly controlled his temper when he saw Samantha inside.

“Hello, Sam. I need to speak to Jess.”

Samantha looked at her friend worriedly. She already

noticed James’ terrifying expression and was concerned. Jessica smiled. “It’s all right. I’ll see you later.”

“I’ll wait for you downstairs.”

When I go home now, Mr. Larson will have free reins to do whatever he wants! What if he hits Jessica? I have to stay so that Mr. Larson will think twice before he does anything violent. I promised Uncle Charles to take good care of her!

After Samantha stepped out, James burst out in anger.

You! Follow me to the Leon family and apologize to them now!”

“What did you do?”

James was stunned that his daughter noticed it so quickly.

“I will not leave unless you explain.”

She leaned back in her lounge chair lazily.

Chapter 164

James took a deep breath and told himself to calm down. He decided to tell her the truth.

Jessica chuckled loudly after she heard it.

So, they tried to settle but were caught on tape.

Everyone now thinks that we are trying to buy the Leon family off! I knew they couldn’t be relied on! He even wants me to apologize for what he did!

Originally, logic and reason were on her side.

All she had to do was to handle Leslie.

But now, she was dragged down by her family!

“What a bunch of fools! Does your PR team consist of a bunch of pigs? Are they dumb?” Jessica scoffed.

James kept quiet as Jessica continued to berate him.

Samantha had crept upstairs and saw this. Her eyes went wide.

Her friend glared at James and said, “Now that things have spiraled out of control, you want me to apologize to them. Are you stupid? I would never have done it even if I was at fault. You should handle it since you were the one who started this!”

“Well, it’s because you started the trouble! I’m ordering you to apologize to the Leon family now! We have to make peace and stop the bad publicity as soon as we can.”

As they spoke, the Larson Group’s share price was already falling slightly. The stock price might crash if the situation persisted! James would never forgive the Leon family and Jessica if that happened!

However, the latter remained nonchalant. “Only useless people would apologize. I will handle this. Get your PR team to stop whatever they are doing.”

Samantha was astonished.

Jessica is so cool! I was initially worried that she would be bullied. It seems like I don’t have to worry!

“Ms. Young, what are you doing at the door?”

The two in the room immediately stopped talking.

With this, the father and daughter parted ways unhappily.

In the middle of the night, a figure could be seen leaving the estate on a motorbike. The vehicle sped off towards the south.

After half an hour, it stopped in front of an old apartment building. The young lady looked up as she arrived.

This is the place.

She headed upstairs via the narrow stairway.

The lady stood on the third floor, fished out a thin strand of metal wire, and carefully inserted it into the keyhole. After two slight turns, the door opened.

She quickly stepped into the unit. It was entirely dark inside. After a few seconds, Jessica navigated the room with the dim lights from outside. She could roughly make out the decor in the place.

Stealthily, she entered one of the bedrooms. A man was snoring loudly on the bed.

She tiptoed and quickly applied pressure around his neck. It was meant to make him unconscious.

Then, Jessica switched on the lights and saw the mess in the room. She knew that Leslie would not keep important things on his computer. Hence, the woman began scanning the room for a flash drive.

Indeed, she saw a few of them in a metal tin in a drawer. There was also a label on top.

She stuffed the tin into her pocket and took the camcorder to his desk too.

In less than fifteen minutes, she was on her way out.

Chapter 165

Back home, Jessica exported the files from the flash drive. The drive contained all sorts of jaw-dropping information. There was insider information about Hachure Media’s senior executives, evidence of celebrities’ derailment, and many countries’ blockbuster movies.

All the information was equally mind-blowing.

Finally, she found the video taken that day. It was the complete video.

They distorted the facts for the sake of grabbing attention.

Jessica pulled out the surveillance footage recorded by Samantha. Based on the camera angle, she quickly discovered Leslie standing amongst the crowd.

Zooming in on the footage, she could see Leslie clearly until the end of the recording.

Jessica saved and encrypted the surveillance footage as well as Leslie’s shots.

Before going to bed, she glanced at the messages on the internet and videos of the Leon family being interviewed. Seeing that the amount of funds raised by the family on the charity platform was multiplying, she let out a sneer.

While in the hospital, the Leon family stared at the volume of donations on the charity platform. Their faces reddened with excitement.

“We got 100 thousand dollars in just one day?” Stella’s eyes widened in shock, then flashed with greed.

“Yes, it’s still increasing as we speak,” responded Yara with a smile.

Stella was so happy that she grinned from ear to ear. “Oh, if I knew that it was this easy to get money, I wouldn’t have asked you to approach Jessica for her fifteen thousand dollars.”

Jonathan Leon rolled his eyes at his mother. “If this matter doesn’t become a big deal, nobody will bother donating. So, we still have to rely on Jessica’s fame. The more her reputation worsens, the more people will sympathize with us and the more donations we’ll get.”

“Then, let’s give that recording to a reporter.”

Jonathan gave a blank look at Stella again. “Mom, why are you so dumb? We still have to demand money for that recording.”

Being reprimanded by her son, Stella dared not make another sound.

“How much money do you think is appropriate?” Yara asked her younger brother.

Jonathan replied without thinking, “150 thousand dollars.

Stella suggested softly, “How about we ask for an extra 50 thousand dollars? I think 150 thousand dollars is too little.”

Looking at the two, Yara felt speechless with disgusted. What can we do with 200 thousand dollars? It’s not even enough for us to buy a house in Horington. Since they’re in such a hurry, it’s obvious that this thing is important to the Larson family. In this case, we shouldn’t go lower than 750 thousand dollars.”

Stella and Jonathan were stunned by the mention of 750 thousand dollars.

“Good thinking.”

Stella nodded.

750 thousand dollars? I’ve never seen so much money all my life. We certainly made a fortune this time.

She was a little pleased that she had rushed out to complain. Otherwise, she would not have had such an opportunity to make money.

While lying on the hospital bed, Oliver quietly listened to the conversations between his wife and children. He tried to speak several times. At the mention of 750 thousand dollars, he sealed his lips.

“Tomorrow, you’ll ask the Larson family if they still want the recording and footage. We shouldn’t demand less; we’ll keep it at 750 thousand dollars. With this money, we can buy a house for Jonathan, and he won’t have to worry about getting married in the future.”

Chapter 166

Hearing Stella’s words, sadness flashed across Yara’s eyes.

A tall, handsome man sporting gold-framed glasses appeared at the Fairview Ventures headquarters in Marsingfill. As he strode toward the chairman’s office, all

the employees greeted him respectfully.

“Good morning, Mr. Shaw.”

Jensen Shaw nodded slightly.

“Mr. Shaw.”

“Morning, Mr. Shaw.”

“Good day, Mr. Shaw.”

As Jensen arrived at the door, Jake stood up to open it for him.

“Mr. Hugh, Mr. Shaw is here.”

Hugh looked away from the computer screen to glance at Jensen.

“Sit.”

He waited for Jensen to sit opposite him before handing over a document.

“Take a look at this case.”

Upon looking through the file carefully for a while, Jensen closed it. “It’s a bit difficult but not unsolvable. We can bankrupt the other party.”

“Then, I’ll leave this case to you.”

Just as Jensen nodded, his mobile phone vibrated. He raised his eyebrows as he glanced at the name on the phone screen. “What’s the matter?”

When his call was picked up, Jack could not wait to ask, ” Did she contact you?”

“No,” answered Jensen.

“No?” Jack’s voice suddenly rose. Even Hugh, who was sitting across from Jensen, could hear his incompetent brother’s voice.

“Yeah,” replied Jensen lightly.

“Let me know once she has contacted you. Also, if she asks for your help, you must help her resolve it as soon as possible. As for my brother’s matter, you can push it aside. He’s not in such a hurry, after all,” uttered Jack with a grin, but he had no clue that Hugh was listening.

After hanging up the phone, Jensen said in good spirits, Your brother seems to fancy someone.”

Jensen gazed at Hugh in amusement, wanting to see how the latter would react upon hearing his brother’s words. Unfortunately, Hugh was expressionless.

“Who?”

“I think it’s a young lady named Jessica. He called me yesterday morning to ask about her. Look, he just called to ask again. I’ve never seen him care about a girl so much.” “Jessica?” Hugh thought of the girl at the school gate that day.

“Do you know her too?” Jensen became even more intrigued.

“No, I’ve only seen her once. What happened to her?” asked Hugh reflexively.

Jensen curled his lips as he could not believe Hugh at all. If you don’t know her, you wouldn’t care about her. “It’s not a big deal. Someone deliberately discredited Jessica on the internet and tainted her reputation. In the words of the entertainment industry, they ‘canceled’ her. Now, all she can do is stay at home.”

Hugh logged on to the entertainment website without any effort. He saw the video at a glance and frowned slightly.

“This person removed the unwanted parts from the recording to disrepute her on purpose.”

“How can you be so sure?” questioned Jensen rhetorically.

“I was at the scene.”

Jensen’s expression turned clear as he asserted, “Actually, it’s easy to deal with this matter. I only have to find the complete video or collect evidence from unrelated witnesses – those who are of high status would be best.” As he spoke, his eyes fell on Hugh.

At that time, so many people were present, most of whom were students of St. Daniel. Naturally, there’s a trust issue as they’re likely to cover up the truth. Thus, the best way is to find an unbiased witness to prove it. The more influential the person is, the greater the credibility. 昌

Chapter 167

While Jensen continued speaking, his mobile phone vibrated twice. Picking up the phone, he found that it was a Twitter notification and opened it.

In the next second, he was stunned.

“What the hell!” exclaimed Jensen.

Before he finished speaking, somebody else had settled the matter.

Compared to Jensen, other people were even more shocked.

Hugh, who had not posted on Twitter for years, suddenly tweeted. His action attracted the attention of a group of business leaders.

The WhatsApp group of Fairview Ventures employees immediately exploded with multiple chats.

Big news, big news! Mr. Hugh posted on Twitter. Screenshot attached.

I didn’t know Mr. Hugh had a Twitter account. Is it because I’m a newbie here?

Three-year rookie here. I never knew that either.

Six-year-old-timer here. I’ve only seen him tweeting twice. Aren’t I lucky?

Hey, hey! Shouldn’t you guys be focusing on the content of his recent tweet instead?

Haha! Everyone’s just too shocked that he posted on Twitter.

Jack arrived at the filming set in Marsingfill, and the assistant hurried over.

“Mr. Ferguson, on T-Twitter-“

“Did something happen to Jessica?” Jack asked

subconsciously, then swiftly took out his phone.

The assistant finally had the chance to tell the whole story.” Your brother posted on Twitter.”

Jack had a questioning expression on his face.

He looked at the assistant angrily. “So what if my brother posted on Twitter? It’s not a big deal, so why are you making a fuss about it? You scared me like something big had happened.”

The assistant turned gloomy.

Isn’t it shocking for a legend in the business world to suddenly post on Twitter? Many business leaders have retweeted, and everyone is alarmed!

The assistant hurriedly said, “Mr. Ferguson, what I want to say is that your brother quashed the rumors on Twitter and indirectly testified for Jessica.”

“What?”

Jack quickly retrieved the phone from the assistant’s hand to check the Twitter post.

“Fuck!”

The assistant sighed silently. Mr. Ferguson has been cursing more frequently lately.

Seeing Jack’s finger poking violently at the screen, the assistant immediately stated, “You can’t post on Twitter, Mr. Ferguson. Mr. Zinn’s orders.”

Jack ignored him.

It’s my Twitter, so I call the shots.

He logged into Twitter, but then…

“When did you change my password?” Jack gazed at the assistant grimly.

The latter’s neck shrank. “Mr. Zinn changed it. Only he knows the password.”

That means if you want to post on Twitter, you have to look for him.

In the Larson residence, Jessica checked her mobile phone and saw the trending tweet that was related to her.

Hugh Ferguson: Not smiling does not mean one’s ungrateful. Acting wronged and weeping does not make one righteous. Ironically, people have chosen to believe a video that has been taken out of context. What a coincidence! I happened to be an eyewitness that day, and I can’t believe the incident has since been twisted into such a cunningly deceitful piece of work. It’s incredible! 昌

Chapter 168

Jessica stared at the Twitter username and fell into a deep thought.

“Hugh?”

Is that Hugh? Last month, I bugged him about this matter, but he refused to help me. This…

Jessica was a little embarrassed.

She thought of the two extraordinary figures in the surveillance footage. It turned out that one of them was the well-known Hugh Ferguson.

James entered the room hastily; he did not look angry at all.

“Jess, you’re an awesome daughter of mine!”

She managed to ask Hugh to help her clarify. My daughter is so amazing. Truly my blood.

If the few company bosses had not congratulated James, he would not have known that Hugh had publicly spoken for his daughter on Twitter. What made him even more pleased was that as numerous business leaders were made aware of Hugh’s tweet, Larson Group’s stock price rose by two percentage points.

That’s the benefit of being connected to the rich and powerful.

With joyful eyes, James scanned Jessica carefully. The more he looked, the more satisfied he was.

My daughter is so beautiful. She’s worthy to marry into the Ferguson family.

Jessica coldly stared at the man in front of her.

Yesterday, he wished to choke me to death so that I would have nothing to do with the Larson Group. Today, I’m a good daughter. Sure enough, all he can think about is his selfish interest.

In my past life, I wasn’t able to bring benefits to him and the Larson family. Instead, I put the family to shame, so he had always ignored my existence and valued Whitney over his biological daughter. Knowing that someone fancied me, even if the guy was a sadist, a pervert, or a murderous lunatic, he would still give me up for the sake of profiting from it. He even let me suffer the torture of that bastard, Seamus Davis! 쇼

At the thought of her life in an abyss of darkness, monstrous hatred overflowed Jessica’s heart, and her eyes were bloodshot.

An intense bloodthirst brewed and spread throughout her system.

While feeling exuberant, James suddenly felt a cold front approach him. He hugged his own arms instinctively. Seeing the gloominess on Jessica’s face, he coughed lightly. “Jess, I was too anxious yesterday. Everything I said was a mistake, and I didn’t mean any of it, so don’t take it to heart. Look what I’ve brought you.”

He placed a gift box in front of her before opening it gently. Inside the box was a shiny diamond necklace.

“Do you like it? It’s a designer piece that I specially brought back from abroad. It’s not yet available for sale locally.” The shimmer of the necklace awakened Jessica’s sense of logic and temporarily suppressed the hatred in her heart. She voiced callously, “It’s all right. I’m exhausted, so please leave.”

James knew that she was unhappy, but he dared not say anything.

She’s now tied to a powerful family, so I’d better be careful.

After he left, Jessica took a few deep breaths to suppress the loathe and murderous intent in her heart.

She took out her mobile phone to dial Jensen’s number. It rang three times before he picked up the call.

“Hello, it’s Jessica.”

The corners of Jensen’s lips slightly raised as he listened to her sweet voice. He was curious about her.

What is so special about this girl? She managed to make a stubborn guy like Hugh speak up and also make Jack long for her.

Chapter 169

“Hello, Ms. Jessica. I thought you don’t need me anymore.” A simple statement from Hugh Ferguson has changed the direction of public opinion regarding Jessica’s incident. On top of that, the reposting of his statement by a group of business big shots has totally made Jessica the victor in this incident. Now that the tables have turned, I believe it won’t be long before this matter dissipates. On the other hand, the Leon family will continue to be out of luck. But why is she looking for me now?

“No way!” Jessica went straight to the point. “This time, I need your help with a few lawsuits. I want to sue Leslie Lane and Chelton Zeller for defamation. Simultaneously, I’ll sue the Leon family for extortion and threat. I’ll send all the evidence to you.”

“Sure.”

Jensen was surprised when he saw the evidence ten minutes later,

Is this a nineteen-year-old girl? Even if Hugh hadn’t made his move, she could still clear her own name and make those people pay. This lawsuit is too simple. So much so that I can win with my eyes closed. If it’s not Jack who introduced her to me, I won’t accept it at all.

Jessica logged on to Twitter, and it took half an hour to sign up for an account.

Since authentication took time, and she did not want to delay, she called Samantha to pass the authentication in a flash.

JessicaStone: I’ve submitted all evidence to the judiciary I believe you’ll receive the lawyer’s letter soon. With that, Jessica tagged Leslie and Chelton.

JessicaStone: I hope that the netizens here will not encounter what I have experienced. I have money, but it doesn’t mean I’ll stand by and watch. Just because you are poor doesn’t mean you are justified. A lawyer’s letter is also on the way to you. I’m sure you know what the charges are. At the end of her message, she tagged Yara.

The post did not attract too many people’s attention. After all, it was a new account.

However, Fairview Ventures, Young Corporation, Larson Group, and Leonard Group all reposted it.

In Horington, the senior executives of Lansing Group were all looking at Logan.

“Mr. Lewis, the Leonard family reposted it. Should we follow suit?”

Logan thought for a while before replying, “Do it.”

It’s just a little gesture to pay the Larson family some respects. To put it bluntly, he did it more so for Young Corporation and Fairview Ventures.

The same situation happened at the Lynch Group.

“The Leonards and the Lewises have reposted the tweet. Shall we follow suit, Mr. Lynch?”

The chairman glanced at his subordinate. “They have all reposted it, so what are you waiting for?”

“Yes, Sir.” The subordinate dealt with it right away.

At the Zahn Group, the same topic was brought to attention.

“Mr. Zahn, Ms. Jessica of the Larson family, issued a statement today, and Young Corporation and Fairview Ventures reposted her tweet. Aside from that, the Leonards, Lewises, and Lynches have all done the same thing. What should we do?”

The chairman cursed inwardly. These old foxes are quick, huh.

“Repost it! Naturally, I have to help my old friends.”

Very soon, other companies affiliated with these prominent companies also reposted the tweet.

It was a classic case of the butterfly effect, and the results drove Jessica’s post to the top of Twitter’s trending list.

When Jessica unlocked her mobile phone, she was overwhelmed by spam notifications.

She looked at her mobile phone, which was paralyzed by the flood of notifications, and muttered dispiritedly, “The phone I just bought is stuck. Why is the quality so bad?”

Chapter 170

Upon knocking and tapping for a long time, the mobile phone was still frozen.

Jessica lost her temper and threw the phone on the bed.

Finally, as she was applying face cream, a series of notification tones sounded abruptly. The phone sounded like a firecracker, and there was no stopping the momentum.

What the hell’s happening?

Jessica picked up her phone questioningly and then saw countless notifications on her Twitter account. Private messages spewed in, leaving her in a state of confusion.

Who am I? Where am I? What did I do?

Three consecutive questions popped up in her mind.

I just created a new account. Did I do something wrong?

After all the incoming alerts stopped, the phone finally

resumed operation. Jessica silently opened the app before finding the series of official corporate accounts collectively mentioning her.

What’s going on here?

Jessica was bewildered and felt slightly uneasy.

Jessica was not alone in that feeling. The masses also felt the same way.

Various companies reposted in the same fashion as if they

feared they would lose out for not doing so.

Dazzled and alarmed, the netizens went wild.

Fucking hell! Does Jessica have ties with all these companies?

What’s Jessica’s background? So many companies have her back.

I’ve been in the dark for the past two days, but the person I’m most curious about is Jessica Stone.

She truly is a significant lady. All of these bigwigs are supporting her.

But without throwing out the evidence, it’s hard to be convincing; there’s no point talking about going to court.

Don’t be so dingy. Nobody would dare to say such things unless they had the confidence. As far as I know, Hugh Ferguson is a reliable person.

That’s right. The Larson family is only well-known in Horington and is not worthy of the support of these prominent people and businesses. It would only damage their reputation.

That may be true. The business world is very dark. Who knows if there’s something fishy going on?

All kinds of opinions appeared.

Yara’s family also saw the news in the hospital. They discovered Jessica’s post on Twitter and the many reposts by various companies.

Stella panicked. “That damn Jessica wants to sue us. What should we do?”

Jonathan was not afraid, so he said casually, “What are you afraid of? She’s just trying to frighten us. If she had the evidence, she would’ve disclosed it by now. Posting on Twitter is just a public relations tactic.”

Stella had no idea what Twitter was or what PR tactics meant, but she believed in his words.

Yara frowned. “We shouldn’t delay. I’ll call a representative of the Larson Group and get the money from them as soon as possible.”

“750 thousand dollars. Nothing less,” Stella exhorted again. Yara was a little agitated but said nothing.

Right now, we should take what we can get. She was starting to regret having rejected the 150 thousand-dollar offer.

Half an hour later, Yara returned without success.

“How did it go? Did they agree? If it’s too much, we can ask for 600 thousand dollars,” said Stella innocently.

Yara pushed her mother aside before sitting down on the lounge chair.

“600 thousand dollars? They don’t even want to pay a single penny now.”

Stella was at a loss for what to do. “Then, what do we do?”

Jonathan replied viciously, “We publicize the video and recording.”

I am a simple girl with a deep brown hair, and a brown eyes. As I grew up I was the laughing-stock of my cousins and playmates by teasing me "Negra" because I am not blessed with fair skin. Those memories just makes me "Smile" everytime I remember it, although I still have a dark skin but I love "Myself" Nakkkssss!!! I grew up in Castilla, Sorsogon, loved my elementary and high school but enjoyed most of my college days. Aside from my work I have other or rather many interest. I love adventure, learning new languages and it's culture, animals, natures, being out in the woods, in the mountains, long walks on the beach, in the rural areas, and i'm at home in the city as well. I'm a music enthusiast (any genre depend on my mood), a foodie, a portrait fanatic, and a movie buff. :) I can know a little bit about everything but I cannot master of anything. Personality wise, I think I am 30-50% good natured, 40 % charming, 15% sarcastic, 10% evil, 40% funny, 25% naugthy ;) :P, hmmm what else? ;) If you have a banner or Link Ads, an Articles, feel free to Email Me!
