Obsessed With Her Novel by Master Momo (Chapters 141, 142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148, 149, 150)

Chapter 141

“What?!” Jack said as he tore off his clothes, revealing his fine collarbone. “Charles Young is so old and yet he still dares to covet a little girl. He’s such a beast!”

He was enraged. Strangely, he felt his precious jewel had been stolen.

No way! Charles must be warned!

Richard heard Jack’s overprotective tone and laughed within himself.

Youngsters nowadays like behaving this way.

You obviously like her but you don’t want to confess your feelings. And now, you are anxious when there’s somebody who wants her too.

“Mr. Salvatore, I’ve got to go.”

“All right, I will take care of the girl. Don’t you worry; she will not be bullied here.” Richard laughed.

“Thanks, Mr. Salvatore.”

After hanging up the phone, Jack phoned Charles’ private number at once.

One minute. Two minutes. Three minutes…

Even after waiting for more than ten minutes, Charles’ number was still engaged.

The moment Charles hung up, Jack’s incoming call immediately connected.

He frowned slightly. Why does this guy keep calling me?

“What’s the matter?” Charles picked up the call and asked directly.

“Charles Young, you are such a beast!”

Charles frowned.

Even though Jack was quite a wild guy, he would still address Charles as “Mr. Young.”

Charles decided not to entertain Jack today as he was too rude.

He hung up the phone without further ado.

Jack was dumbfounded. He stared blankly at the phone that had just been hung up.

But immediately after, he started dialing Charles again.

“One more insult from you and I will block you,” Charles warned him in a low and threatening voice.

Jack knew that Charles would do exactly what he had just said. To get down to business, he could only put up with it.

“I heard that you are in love with a girl these days,” asked Jack in an unfriendly tone.

“Get to the point!”

“So you do admit it!” Jack raised his voice.

How shameless!

How could Charles be so brazen as to covet such a young and pretty girl?

Shameless, he is so shameless!

Charles said, “It’s none of your business.”

“Mr. Young, don’t you feel ashamed? You are so old and she’s still young. Aren’t you afraid that people will accuse you of robbing the cradle?”

“That’s not for you to worry about.”

“What do you mean by that? Did you get my permission?” Jack asked angrily.

Charles shook his head speechlessly. “If there’s nothing else, I should hang up now.”

Before Jack could answer, the call was hung up again.

When Jack tried to dial back, he had already been blocked.

“Damn!” Jack swore. “Charles Young, you’re so ruthless!”

The assistant beside Jack was shocked as Jack rarely swore and asked cautiously, “Is there something wrong, Mr. Ferguson?”

Jack waved his hand to tell him not to bother.

Jack squinted and thought that if he couldn’t make Charles give up, he would try Jessica.

Jack found Jessica’s WhatsApp. He pondered for a while then texted her an implicit message.

When Jessica walked out of the bathroom, she heard a message alert tone.

She picked up her phone.

Jack: Happy birthday, Jess.

Jack: I have encountered a problem while filming and I want to ask you for guidance. Which type of guys do pretty girls like? For example, a girl like you.

Jessica looked at the messages and became speechless.

Does he have feelings for me?

Chapter 142

It was not Jessica’s fault to have this kind of thought. It was Jack’s question that made people misunderstand him.

Normally, after a message like this, the next one would be something like “What do you think of me?”, followed by a confession of the person’s affection.

Jessica contemplated for some time as she didn’t want to hurt him or embarrass him. She could only euphemistically reject him for the most suitable reason.

Ding-dong!

Jack’s phone rang. He impatiently checked the message.

Jessica replied: I am focusing on my studies now, so I haven’t thought of this question before.

I am currently not considering being in a relationship.

Jack stared at the message.

Something is not right,.

She’s not thinking that I like her, is she?

Jack felt awkward. He lowered his head to check the messages he had sent and clicked on the “unsend” button. However, the system displayed that messages sent couldn’t be unsent after two minutes.

“Shit!”

The assistant beside him was shivering.

What’s wrong with Jack today?

Jessica waited for some time but didn’t receive any replies from Jack.

Could it be that he is feeling uncomfortable?

Actually, Jessica was a nice girl. It was just that after experiencing so much in her past life, she didn’t know how to love and trust someone unconditionally anymore.

Just as she was ready to rest, the phone beside her bed vibrated.

Jessica picked up the phone and clicked on the notification.

Jack: You have misunderstood.

I was simply asking for your opinion.

I didn’t mean anything else.

Jessica raised her brows slightly as if she was expecting this answer.

She could already guess Jack’s reply before reading it.

Before Jessica could reply to him with an “okay,” another message popped up.

Jack: Did this question make you uncomfortable?

Actually, I just wanted to understand what kids around your age think. As you know, most of my fans are around your age.

If Jessica only looked at the previous messages, she might continue to misunderstand Jack.

However, after reading the word “kids,” Jessica felt embarrassed.

I have indeed misunderstood him.

Jessica looked back at her replies and frowned hard.

She tried to unsend those messages but it didn’t work.

She started thinking hard for a solution. Then she typed a reply.

Jessica: What I like might not be the same as what your fans like.

I have no requirements regarding a man’s appearance or height. I would only ask for a man to treat me sincerely, love me, protect me, and trust me unconditionally.

Jack looked at the message, not knowing what to reply.

The message from Jessica sounded half-hearted and official but he believed that what she said was the truth. He even felt that those words in the text were quite heavy and depressing.

Why does she have a heavy heart at such a young age?

The assistant noticed Jack was frowning and thinking in a serious manner so he didn’t dare to disturb him. However, the director was already urging. He had no choice but to interrupt Jack’s thoughts.

“Mr. Ferguson, it’s time for filming,” said the assistant carefully.

Jack was so immersed in thinking of a solution to spoil Charles’ plan that he didn’t hear his assistant.

Jack: Old men are experienced and realistic. Their favorites are young and beautiful girls.

He continued to reply: Jess, if you ever met any old guys who try to please you, you must be cautious as they certainly have bad intentions and dirty minds.

Chapter 143

Jessica felt warm looking at the message.

Those trivial matters from the banquet seemed to have disappeared at once.

When the assistant saw that Jack was staring at his phone and not responding to him, he reminded Jack again, “Mr. Ferguson, the director is urging.”

The phone vibrated again right when the assistant finished talking.

Jessica: &ltThanks. I will keep this in mind. Good night!&gt

Jack smiled upon reading this message. He put away his phone and stood up. “Let’s go.”

The assistant quickly followed after, opening the car door.

The warm weekend sunlight and a gentle breeze made people drowsy.

A girl with a slender figure sat at a café in the afternoon. Almost everyone passing by on the street subconsciously looked at this beautiful girl through the window.

The pedestrians looked at her like she was a landmark without knowing that she viewed them the same, too.

Suddenly, a staggering figure appeared on the street – a young man wearing a wrinkly checkered shirt. His slightly long hair covered his brows and eyes, giving him a disheveled look. He wore thick-rimmed glasses that concealed half of his face and carried a stack of documents in his arms.

The young man entered the coffee shop hurriedly and rushed to the booth directly in front of her.

At the same booth sat a man dressed in a refined suit; he looked like

an upper-class elite. When he saw the young man, he raised his hand, revealing the Cartier diamond watch on his wrist.

Many customers in the café also noticed the dazzling diamond watch and couldn’t stop looking.

The young man put down the documents and apologized to the well-dressed man repeatedly. “Sorry… I’m so sorry. There was a traffic jam. My apologies for being late.”

The well-dressed man said coldly, “I dislike unpunctual people. You have wasted two minutes of my time.”

Jessica leisurely picked up her coffee and took a sip while looking in the direction of the booth.

The young man was nervous; he kept apologizing.

The well-dressed man waved his hand and said in disdain, “Enough. Stop wasting time. Show me your proposal now.”

The young man carefully passed the documents to him at once.

After five minutes, the well-dressed man forcefully closed the document and slammed it on the table, knocking over the cup of coffee. The document soaked up the coffee and turned dark brown.

The young man saw it and picked up the documents quickly. He pulled out tissue paper hurriedly to wipe off the stain on the documents.

“Why are you so worried about a trashy proposal?”

The young man didn’t care. He only tried to wipe off the stain carefully.

“I would advise you to not show this kind of trashy proposal to anyone else if you don’t wish to embarrass yourself. You wasted my time.”

The well-dressed man stood up and walked away after talking.

Left alone, the young man gathered his documents and headed out dispiritedly.

A waiter quickly blocked his way with a bill in his hand.

“Sir, please pay the bill.”

The young man was stunned.

“I didn’t order anything.”

He pushed up his glasses and spoke in a gentle voice.

The waiter smiled and explained, “Your friend has ordered and he hasn’t paid yet. Please settle the bill.”

The young man looked at the coffee and desserts on the table and asked, “How much?”

“Seventy-five dollars, please.”

“How-how much?” The young man stuttered.

The waiter repeated patiently. “Sir, the total is seventy-five dollars.”

Ħ

Chapter 144

The young man was stupefied.

One cup of coffee and two slices of cake cost seventy-five dollars.

This was half a month of his living expenses.

The waiter was getting impatient. He reminded the young man again, “Sir.”

The young man fumbled with his old wallet for money. However, he could only take out forty-five dollars.

“I… I only have this much,” the young man said in embarrassment with his head down.

The waiter looked at him disdainfully and said, “Our shop supports credit cards and bank transfers, too.”

“I… I have no money on my card.”

It was obvious that the customers were all looking down at him by now.

“Put the remaining amount on my bill.”

A cold voice sounded at the right moment.

Everyone turned to Jessica.

The young man looked at her, shocked. He was dazed and unable to move when his eyes met those beautiful eyes of hers.

I will pay you back” The young man promised solely.

Jessica dismissed the waiter, and then she beckoned the young man to sit down.

The young man sat down in front of her after hesitating for a moment

He took out a pen from his pocket and pulled out a tissue paper He wrote his name and number on it then passed it to Jessica.

“I will pay you back as soon as possible. Thank you so much.

Jessica glimpsed at the name on the paper.

Zander Ferrel!

It’s definitely Zander.

In her past life, she had heard about this legendary man from the Larson family and from Seamus.

She was actually grateful to Seamus for having told her more than once about Zander’s accomplishments and the challenges he met before he became famous.

That bastard has even read Zander’s biography repeatedly and kept regretting not having invested in that project.

Before she died, Zander had already become one of the top 500 corporate bosses with a net worth of tens of billions.

He started from scratch and spent less than eight years to reach stardom in the finance world; he even managed to get into the Forbes List.

In short, Zander was a legend.

Behind this legendary person was a sharp-sighted finance magnate: Hugh Ferguson!

It was Hugh who found Zander and gave him the capital and freedom to let out his full potential.

All the magnates in the industry weren’t optimistic about Zander and Hugh. They thought that Hugh had made a wrong decision.

From their perspectives, they thought that Zander’s ideas were too innovative and impractical. It’s difficult for the ideas to be turned into a reality.

However, Hugh strongly believed in Zander, and the latter didn’t turn out to be a disappointment. Zander did something other people could never achieve and built a business empire, turning himself and Hugh into walking legends.

Jessica looked at the shy young man in front of her. This man will soon be the successful Zander that everyone talks about.

The current Zander who was hard-pressed and being looked down upon by everyone was so different from the Zander in the near future.

“May I have a look at the proposal?” Jessica asked.

Zander was surprised.

The proposal was nothing to other people but was more important to Zander than his own life.

Jessica then said, “It’s fine if you don’t want to.”

Zander realized that she had misunderstood him. He immediately shook his head and said eagerly, “No! It’s just that this proposal is stained.”

“It doesn’t matter as long as it’s legible.”

Upon seeing that she really didn’t care about the stains, Zander handed over the proposal to her while carefully avoiding the coffee cup on the table to prevent the tragedy from repeating itself.

It was clear that the proposal was really precious to him.

Jessica understood that every proposal was the fruit of one’s painstaking effort.

Chapter 145

Needless to say, Zander’s proposal was intriguing as it could generate high returns.

Jessica read his proposal thoroughly although she was inexperienced in business.

Zander thought that she would not pay much attention to his

proposal just like other potential investors. However, to his surprise, she was the only one who took it seriously.

As time flew by, Zander became nervous.

When she finished reading the proposal, he looked at her worriedly, his body stiff.

Zander asked, “How is it?”

“You’ve come up with a daring and advanced idea, but it will be hard for you to actualize it. However, I believe you will make it,” Jessica said with determination.

The nervousness in his heart was instantly soothed upon hearing that.

Tears welled up in his eyes.

It was his first time being recognized for his efforts on the proposal and receiving the assurance that he could achieve it.

When he first came up with the proposal, he felt very confident in himself.

However, after being rejected numerous times, he almost wanted to give up.

He regained hope after listening to Jessica’s words.

Although she might not be able to give him the aid he needed, he was contented with her recognition and encouragement.

“Thank you.” Zander’s gentle voice sounded.

Jessica then asked, “How much funding is required for the preparation stage of your project?”

“Huh?!” Zander was dumbstruck.

“I’d like to invest in it.”

He was completely stunned by the girl in front of him asking to invest in his project despite her young age.

He reminded her subtly, “It’s quite a bit.”

“I know. Tell me the amount.”

Seeing the persistence in her, Zander answered, “750 thousand dollars is required for the preparation stage.”

“750 thousand dollars,” Jessica murmured. “Okay. Prepare the contract. I’ll invest in it.”

Zander was astonished. “That’s 750 thousand dollars!”

“Yeah, I know.”

“Are you sure that you want to invest in it?” Zander was still in shock due to her action as he knew an investment of that amount was no casual commitment.

However, when he saw the seriousness in her eyes, he was certain that she was not fooling around.

Jessica then said, “I’ll draw up the contract. As you’ve invested in the technical side of things, you’ll get thirty percent of the shares. As for me, since I’m the investor, I’ll get 70 percent. You will run the company. We’ll sign the contract here tomorrow. Are you okay with it?”

Zander looked at her in a daze.

“If you have any opinion toward the share distribution, you can voice it out.”

He waved his hands. “N-No. I think that this is fair enough.”

Zander was overjoyed. I’m already blessed enough to have an investor, not to mention a thirty-percent share of the project!

Jessica was stunned that he agreed immediately to her arrangement. She was actually expecting him to negotiate.

She felt like she had cheated on an honest man.

“Then I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Jessica let out a sigh of relief after settling the deal with Zander.

Chapter 146

Jessica initially planned to sign the contract immediately to avoid any complications. However, if she showed Zander the contract on the spot, it would arouse his suspicions about their partnership.

Trust is the key when it comes to business. Without it, our collaboration won’t last long. I doubt that Zander will break his promise unless Hugh Ferguson shows up and steals him away from me. But I think it’s not probable.

Jessica did not believe that there would be such a coincidence of Hugh appearing in front of Zander before she and Zander signed the contract.

Zander parted ways with her after leaving the café.

He stood at the entrance of the café in a daze.

Everything that happened seemed unexpected to him.

At that moment, a Maybach stopped by the roadside. A man got out of the car and walked toward him.

“Hello, Mr. Ferrel. My boss would like to talk with you.” The man gestured politely to him.

Zander followed the direction of the man’s gesture only to see a luxury car by the roadside.

Zander followed the man.

After the man opened the door to the backseat, Zander lowered his body and froze when he established eye contact with the person inside the car.

He stiffened when he got in the car; he was nervous.

He did not even dare to breathe loudly. This is Hugh Ferguson, the finance magnate!

Hugh was Zander’s idol whom the latter deeply admired.

Hugh was rumored to be a genius in mathematics. He entered a top university at just twelve years old.

He used his savings to invest in gold and shares. Moreover, his speculations were always accurate and every one of his investments yielded high returns.

Before he graduated from university, he was already a multi-millionaire.

At the age of 18, he established his own finance company and triumphed over his competitors.

His achievements filled him with glory and propelled him to the zenith of finance.

“I’ve read your proposal. It’s quite good.”

Zander was overwhelmed with emotions when he received acknowledgment from his idol.

“Thank you.”

Hugh asked point-blank, “How quickly can you generate profits if I invest in your project?”

Zander was stunned.

He was dumbfounded as he felt like he was the luckiest man in the world to be offered two opportunities in a row.

He stuttered. “I…-I…”

“What’s the matter?” Hugh looked at him sharply.

“I’ve already found an investor.”

“Do you mean Xenon Zimmer?” Hugh raised his eyebrow in surprise as he had never thought that Xenon would have such sharp eyes.

“No, it’s not Mr. Zimmer.”

“Then who is it?”

“Her name is Jessica Stone.” After finishing his words, Zander blamed himself as he had spoken too much.

I shouldn’t break my promise to Ms. Stone even if I really wish to work with my idol.

“Jessica Stone,” Hugh mumbled to himself, trying to recall her name among the representatives of the investment companies he knew.

Hugh did not persist any further. Instead, he gave his card to Zander. “If you ever change your mind, feel free to contact this number.”

Zander sent the Maybach off after receiving the card in gratitude.

“Look into Jessica Stone.” Hugh’s deep voice echoed in the car.

Chapter 147

“Sure,” said Jake Thompson, Hugh’s chief assistant.

Jessica was thinking about the 750 thousand dollars, unaware that someone almost usurped her position as the investor.

Meanwhile, Willow bumped into Julianna when she was taking some gifts upstairs. Julianna asked, “What are these?”

“These are gifts from the Johnsons, the Yards, and the Stevenses. Ms. Jessica asked me to bring them to her.”

Julianna looked at the gifts. She instantly knew that they were expensive. “Just give them to me and tell Jessica that I will keep them for her.”

Willow was hesitant.

“What? Do you not hear me?” Julianna’s soft voice suddenly turned cold.

“Okay.” Willow passed the gifts to her sheepishly.

At that moment, Jessica opened the door and looked at the gifts in Julianna’s hand.

“Mrs. Wallace, how could you ask her to pass them to me?” Jessica walked toward Julianna.

Julianna smiled and said, “These are expensive gifts. Let me keep them for you.”

“That’s fine. I’m not a kid anymore. How could I survive if I didn’t even know how to keep these things.” Jessica reached out her hand.

However, Julianna remained unperturbed. “You don’t need these things. We need to take good care of all these paintings and antiques. Or else, it’s going to be worthless. Besides, your father loves collecting it. Let him have it for a few days first. Then, we will return it to you.”

Jessica chuckled and gave Julianna a cold stare. Walking beside her, Jessica bent over and muttered, “Do you think your sweetheart is having too good a life?”

This is a threat!

Julianna was stunned; she looked at Jessica.

“Since you love them so much, just take it.” Jessica took a step back and smirked coldly.

Then, she turned around and left.

Julianna was frightened by Jessica’s grim smile. “Well, I was just saying.”

Right as she said that she passed the gifts back to Willow and urged the latter, “Hurry up and give them back to Jessica.”

Willow uttered an acknowledgment and scurried after Jessica.

Nighttime. James and Julianna were lying in bed. James was in a good mood, but he saw his wife looking upset. ‘What happened?’ he asked.

Julianna turned and looked at him thoughtfully. “Honey, don’t you think Jess is a bit weird? Sometimes her gaze terrifies me.”

James snorted. “You are overthinking.”

“I’m serious. I was trying to help Jess with the gifts today, but she threatened me. Do you think she hates us? Will she harm us?” Julianna became more agitated with every word.

James immediately put on a stern face when he saw Julianna start exaggerating. “I know you don’t like Jess, but you can’t cross the line. After all, Jess is still our daughter and Whitney is only someone else’s daughter.”

He was starting to prefer Jessica over Whitney.

He was pissed off upon thinking that Zachary had chosen Whitney over family.

Julianna felt uncomfortable talking about Whitney, so she changed the topic. “I want to get closer with Jess, but it’s hard with her personality.”

“You have to treat her nicely and then she will do the same. I’ll tell you: Jess will marry into the Ferguson family or the Young family in the future. You have to treat her well,” James warned.

Chapter 148

Julianna was unhappy. “She is also my daughter. Stop saying like I’m her stepmother.”

“You know what I mean. The future of the Larson family depends on her,” James stated clearly.

Julianna glared at James while he had fallen asleep.

He only has his eyes fixed on benefits!

She had thought that he sincerely cared about Jessica. However, it turned out he was just being practical.

Meanwhile, Jessica was organizing the gifts. She separated them into two groups – the high-value items that could be sold, and the others.

She called Samantha when she finished the organizing. “Sam, do you know anyone who loves antiques? I want to sell two pieces of

antique from the Johnson family and the Stevens family.”

Samantha was stunned. “Are you short of money?”

“Yes.”

“I have 450 thousand dollars. Is that enough for you?” Samantha offered directly.

“Never mind. I’ll be fine if I sell the two antiques.”

Samantha didn’t question more. She only said to Jessica, “Don’t worry. Just leave it to me.”

Samantha looked at her contact list when they ended the call. It was all youngsters or relatives in her contact list.

Then, she got up from her bed and looked for Charles. Samantha knocked on Charles’ door.

“Come in.”

She stuck out her head and looked at the guy who was sitting behind an office desk. “Uncle Charles, do you know anyone who likes to collect antiques? I have two things to sell.”

Charles was going through some documents. He raised his head and gazed at her. “Antiques?”

“Yes.” Samantha nodded.

“Jessica wants to sell her antiques?”

Samantha chuckled. “Looks like I can’t hide anything from you. She wants to sell them immediately.”

“Bring them to me.”

“Then

“Sure.”

you have to find buyers as soon as possible,” Samantha urged.

“Uncle Charles, you are so kind,” Samantha buttered him up.

The next day, Jessica sent over the antiques to Charles. She thought that it might take a few days for the items to be sold. However, she received a bank transfer notification very soon.

Jessica had 900,000 dollars more when she checked her balance.

So, she immediately transferred the money to Zander for him to kickstart his plan.

In the Young Corporation office, Howard Fields walked in and slumped onto the couch.

He crossed his legs casually and looked at the boxes on the coffee table. Then, he saw a tea set and a painting inside it.

“Since when are you interested in buying antiques?” Howard didn’t understand the joy of collecting antiques.

“That was just for fun,” Charles replied.

“How much does it cost?”

“900,000 dollars.”

Howard jumped in shock. “Charles, you got scammed! These two things would cost 600 thousand dollars at most. You wasted 300 thousand dollars. I can’t believe the wise Mr. Young got scammed.” Howard couldn’t help but gloat upon knowing that.

He broke out in laughter as he spoke.

However, Charles ignored his friend and continued to look at the documents.

“Who is the seller? I will get even with the person for you.” Howard spoke convincingly.

“No, It’s fine.”

Howard narrowed his eyes. “Something’s not right with you.”

“I’m fine. You may get lost now.” Charles gave Howard a cold stare.

Then, Howard placed an invitation letter on the desk. “Yvonne is getting married; this is for you.”

Charles took a look at the invitation letter.

Howard sighed silently when he saw no change in Charles’ expression.

Yvonne must be disappointed!

Chapter 149

It will never be Yvonne.

Howard left the office after he completed the task given by his younger sister, Yvonne Fields.

It was a breezy and sunny afternoon. A person was walking out of the police station. He looked stinky with a wrinkled uniform and an unkempt beard.

That was Henry Lowe, the guy who caused a stir at Jessica’s birthday banquet and was arrested by the police.

However, his crime was not a serious offense so he was discharged very soon.

Henry looked awful when he turned around and spat at the police station. Pfft! “I’m so unlucky!”

Then, he returned to the shanty part of the western suburbs to find Yara.

As soon as Yara saw Henry, she turned around and ran away.

Henry took a few strides with his long legs and stood in front of her, blocking her way. “Why are you running?”

Yara took a step back because she was terrified. “What are you trying to do?”

“Nothing much. I just want to look for you. It’s time for you to pay up the rest of the money.”

“You didn’t complete your mission. Besides, those ladies didn’t pay me anything, so I don’t have money for you.” Yara was trembling in the corner when she looked at him.

“I don’t care. I’ve already done everything according to the request. The outcome is none of my business. Besides, I was in jail for a few days because of you all. I need to be compensated for emotional distress too.” Henry spoke domineeringly.

“I really don’t have money. You have to go to them if you want it. I will call the police right away if you dare to do anything to me.”

“Call the police?” Henry sneered coldly. All of a sudden, he walked toward Yara and grabbed her hair. He tugged it fiercely, pushed her to the ground, and stepped on her.

“Yara, don’t think that I am afraid to hit a woman. Prepare three thousand dollars by month-end. Or else, don’t blame me for anything later.” Henry left casually.

Yara had tears in her eyes. She stood up in embarrassment after Henry left.

“Jessica, this is all your fault!” Yara gritted her teeth.

Henry went to hang out with his friends. After the gathering, he became drunk and walked into an alley alone with a bottle of beer in his hand, humming a tune and taking a few sips out of his bottle as he did so.

Suddenly, he had an urge to pee. He peed in the corner and was ready to leave. However, he sensed that someone was following him. Hence, he looked around, but nothing was in the dark alley.

He continued to walk even though he sensed something different.

He felt like someone was about to attack him from behind.

He immediately turned around, but still, no one was there.

“Who’s that?” he yelled.

However, the dark alley was quiet and there was no response.

“What the hell,” Henry cursed under his breath.

“Hehehehehe.”

All of a sudden, he heard a low-pitched laugh coming out of nowhere.

Henry felt a chill run down his spine; his eyes widened.

“Don’t come near me. I have a talisman with me.” He spoke boldly.

At that very moment, a tall figure appeared in front of him. It was a breezy night and that figure was wearing a black coat.

Henry immediately screamed and ran away. Unfortunately, he tripped over an empty beer bottle and fell onto the ground.

Then, the black figure approached Henry, and it made him scream hysterically.

He heard a cold laugh. “Henry, it’s been a while.”

Chapter 150

Henry stopped screaming when he heard that familiar voice. He looked at Jessica shockingly.

“It’s you.” Henry would never expect it to be Jessica.

Jessica had a sweet and pretty face. However, she looked cold and creepy at the moment, even when she was smiling.

It was terrifying for Henry. His heart was racing even after he tried to calm himself down.

Jessica’s face seemed even more distorted under the dim and flickering lights.

“Are you a… h-human… or a ghost?” Henry stammered.

“What do you think?” Jessica grinned.

Henry instantly got up from the ground and tried to run away. Unfortunately, there was a force pulling him from behind. He felt someone grabbing his neck. He was rendered immobile.

He turned around but there was no one behind. He then realized his collar was somehow tangled up with a wooden plank.

Then, he peered around. His surroundings still looked as empty as before.

That’s not Jessica!

He was getting dizzy. “Haha. It must be my imagination.”

Having said that, he belched and continued to walk.

Suddenly, another blurry and dark figure appeared in front of him. He rubbed his eyes and somehow it disappeared.

In the blink of an eye, the dark figure reappeared and flew toward him.

It flew with no legs!

“Ah! A ghost!” Henry screamed.

He wanted to escape from the scene. However, someone then hit him hard and blood gushed out of his head.

From the corner of his eyes, Henry saw the dark figure approaching him. He immediately ran off and screamed, “That’s a ghost!”

No matter how hard he tried to escape, the dark figure always followed him.

He acted like a psycho and shrieked incessantly in extreme terror.

Henry kept running erratically and knocking himself onto a wall, looking like he had been possessed.

Two hours later, Henry fell to the ground.

Then, he heard a few gentle footsteps slowly coming toward him. That person stood tall in front of him. Henry’s body twitched, with foam gushing out of his mouth. The person looked at him and left.

The next morning, Yara saw people carrying Henry on a stretcher. The neighbors told her that Henry was possessed in an area marked for demolition.

Yara was relieved.

That’s great! It would be even better if he’s dead.

Yara was in a good mood; she even started humming as she walked on.

At that moment, a neighbor saw Yara and walked toward her hurriedly. “Yara, you are finally back. Your dad suddenly fainted and spat out blood. We’ve just sent him to the hospital. Hurry! Your mom is waiting for you.”

The smile on Yara’s face disappeared instantly.

Yara immediately went to the hospital. She finally met her mother and younger brother in front of the operating room. They were relieved when they saw Yara.

“Yara, you are finally here.” Stella Connor held Yara’s hands.

“Mom, what happened to Dad?” Yara was anxious.

“The doctor said it was a stroke. If he is sick, our family will be in trouble. We still have to think about your brother’s school fees and our living expenses, on top of your dad’s medical fees.” Stella held Yara’s hand even tighter; she was evidently getting more desperate as she spoke.

I am a simple girl with a deep brown hair, and a brown eyes. As I grew up I was the laughing-stock of my cousins and playmates by teasing me "Negra" because I am not blessed with fair skin. Those memories just makes me "Smile" everytime I remember it, although I still have a dark skin but I love "Myself" Nakkkssss!!! I grew up in Castilla, Sorsogon, loved my elementary and high school but enjoyed most of my college days. Aside from my work I have other or rather many interest. I love adventure, learning new languages and it's culture, animals, natures, being out in the woods, in the mountains, long walks on the beach, in the rural areas, and i'm at home in the city as well. I'm a music enthusiast (any genre depend on my mood), a foodie, a portrait fanatic, and a movie buff. :) I can know a little bit about everything but I cannot master of anything. Personality wise, I think I am 30-50% good natured, 40 % charming, 15% sarcastic, 10% evil, 40% funny, 25% naugthy ;) :P, hmmm what else? ;) If you have a banner or Link Ads, an Articles, feel free to Email Me!
