Melody lowered her eyes and said with a snort, “Russell, don’t you know? The crimson card is made of very special materials. Putting aside the question of whether such a card can be faked, no one in the entire Halcyon will dare to forge a crimson card even if it is possible.”

Russell was shocked. He looked at Mabel with a quizzical expression as if asking her whether Melody was telling the truth.

However, before she could get an answer to this question, the hitmen hired by the father and daughter began walking toward them step by step.

Mabel was terrified and ran upstairs, screaming all the way.

“Argh!” Mabel’s scream tore through the roof. A sparrow that had perched on the roof flew into the sky in fright.

Russell’s legs went weak when he saw those people closing in.

They were not in a hurry to beat up Russell and Mabel. Instead, they played with the duo like cats playing with mice before biting the rodents to death.

It was like some sort of mental torture, which was a lot worse than physical torture.

This was the price Russell and Mabel paid for hiring these hitmen…

It was these two people who almost caused the hitmen to offend the Crimson Card holder.

The farce lasted for more than ten minutes before the leader finally got tired. “Beat them up. Don’t leave any traces.”

“Yes, Boss!” The hitmen shed their playful expressions and pressed toward the father and daughter with steely eyes.

Screams rang out once more.

However, the hitmen controlled their strength with every punch. They did not leave any visible marks on the duo’s bodies, but every punch hurt so badly that the father and daughter wanted to die.

Russell was curled up on the ground in pain while Mabel had already fainted from fear.

The older man begged for mercy in anguish. “Brothers! I was wrong! Big Brother… Bro…”

The hitmen’s actions showed no signs of stopping at all. Only the languid voice of the leader could be heard. “Bear with it. You won’t die. If you want to blame anyone, just blame yourself for messing with the wrong person!”

Russell was truly remorseful now. “Melody! My good daughter! I know my mistake. Let me off!”

Outside the door, Melody heard the man begging for mercy. Her eyes never once wavered or showed mercy. Instead, they were filled with disgust and iciness.

She muttered to herself, ‘Good daughter? So now he is acknowledging me as his daughter. But having a father like him is the biggest stain on my life.

Ken raised his eyebrows noncommittally. “If I say yes, do I get a reward?”

“What do you want? I’ll agree to anything.” Melody responded with sincerity.

Ken did not miss the sincerity in her eyes.

His thin lips parted slightly, and he asked with a hint of playfulness, “You will agree to everything I ask for?
